How do I apply for a distance learning course?
There is formal entry requirement for MIT distance education courses along with reasonable standard of English language. We ask for commitment, enthusiasm and a desire to learn. There are two ways to enroll. You can send in your completed enrollment form and fee by post or you can enroll online by sending your queries at sde@mitsde.com Enrollment can also be made by personal visit to MIT School of Distance Education.
Can I visit the college before enrolling?
MIT School of Distance Education holds regular open afternoons for prospective students, giving you the opportunity to look at the course manuals and see examples of students' work. To book an appointment please call 9823722678.
Do I have to pass an entry test?
No, our courses are open to all as we believe that everyone should have an equal opportunity to study.
When can I start the course and how long will it take?
The wonderful thing about distance learning is that it is completely flexible. You can begin whenever you like and take 1.5 times more the time of a classroom program. There are no extra charges or time limits. However in your own interest you should finish the course within stipulated time.
How long will it take for course materials to reach me?
Your manuals will be dispatched in 48 hours from receipt of your completed enrollment form via a secure delivery system (requiring a signature) and take about 10-14 days, on average, to arrive. You will also receive a Student Handbook, which will explain how to go about with your studies.
How do I know how well I am doing?
The study materials are accompanied with complete self-assessed test papers and exercises to help you absorb lessons learnt more easily. There are assignments in each manual, which must be submitted to the college for assessment by a specialist tutor. There will be a project work which must be completed by you and would be returned back to you with comments and with marking tutor's assessment sheet, which will show you where you have done well and where there is room for improvement.
How long does it take for work to be returned to me?
We usually return students' work within 21 days of receiving it.
Do I get a certificate if I reach the required standard?
If your work reaches the required standard , you will be awarded the Diploma or Certificate applicable to the course you have taken.
